Our Story Of The Long Ireland Beer Company
Long Ireland Beer Company began a little differently then most businesses. Two friends had a crazy idea to go out and start a business because they wanted to do something they truly enjoyed. DRINK BEER!

Well, it’s a little more detailed then that. A few years back while I was laid up on crutches, I was contemplating my career choices and thinking about what I could do that I really enjoyed. I could only come up with three things, 1. Be a rock star. 2. Be a fireman. 3. Do something with beer. When I was thinking that it would be cool to start a brewery, I began to investigate. Then it happened, my mother bought me a homebrew kit for Christmas. I was very excited and I couldn’t wait to make my first brew. It came out horrible, but I drank it anyway. Immediately I was hooked. I began trying new recipes and tried to improve the process. After about a year I was talking to my friend Dan about it and he said he would like to try brewing with me the next time I was going to make beer. We bought some better equipment and brewed our first beer together; we made 2 cases of beer and drank 1 case making it. NOT GOOD! Dan’s motto is bigger is better. So while we continued to brew 2 cases each time, Dan began to “increase productivity”. We continued to buy bigger and better equipment that allowed us to make larger quantities of better beer. We talked about starting a brewery, half-jokingly over and over again. We would give some beer to our friends and family and they loved it, or at least lied to us that they loved it. We continued to brew more beer, bigger batches and refine recipes. While doing this we began reading and researching the business of beer. Three years of serious development has brought us where we are today, the beginning.

While setting up the legal aspects of the business, we had a unique opportunity. We became friends with Rob, the owner of New England Brewing Company in Connecticut. Rob is a highly respected brewer with almost 20 years in the brewing industry. He was willing to allow us to work hands-on with him in the brewery and begin making our beer that we could distribute while we continued to move forward on building our brewery right here on Long Island. So thanks for checking us out, stay tuned for more updates and beer to come.
